In this dwelling, we endeavoured to interpret what a rural north Irish house would look like in the modern idiom – the clients were very keen to explore modern methods of construction – in this case timber frame, and we designed a building that has indeed proved ageless and classic in design rather than temporal or faddy, as often can be the case.
Landscaping is so vital, and often in the rural countryside the integration of the design with landscaping and planting is forgotten or not prioritised in the budget, and in this case it is evident how well the house sits into its context.
